Rock crystal hearts carved from geodes! per box 5-8 pieces (depending on size)
Witch-eye (man-made Mother of Pearl) ball 40mm, originating from China.
Tiger's eye spheres of 40mm, sourced from South Africa!
(it sounds so simple, for the first time in our 47-year history a 40mm Tiger's Eye sphere) Tiger's Eye is popular because of its unique "chatoyance," as a tumble stone, as a heart, as a point, but also as a sphere. But the South African mother material is often only 25-35mm thick, so cutting 40mm spheres from it is not easy. We were able to obtain a small batch of thicker pieces and were thus able to have 200 pieces ground.
Tiger's eye is a variety of quartz. The color of the stone is yellow-brown to brown, streaked, and opaque. Locations include Africa, India, Mexico, California, and Australia. Tiger's eye is formed by the selection of black-blue asbestos fibers known as crocidolite. This results in solid inclusions of hair-like crystals in the quartz. Due to the oxidation of the original crocidolite fibers, the stone's golden shimmering limonite fibers are formed. Tiger's eye is named so because the stone has a light reflection that resembles a tiger's eye. This streak-like light effect is called chatoyering or the 'cat's eye effect.' When the stone is cut cabochon (rounded), the beautiful cat's eye effect is best visible. The color of the stone gives it its name: the red variety is called Cat's Eye, the blue one is called Hawk's Eye, and the yellow one is called Tiger's Eye (golden yellow, golden brown).
