Bronze statues: These beautiful bronze statues are made in Sidoarjo, a small regency near Surabaya, in a subdistrict just between the border of Surabaya and Sidoarjo, called Waru. They are made by a company owned by a woman who makes these small works of art with a love for bronze casting. Our series of statues consists of various stately Buddhas, Ganeshas, Elephants, Shivas and other statues from Buddhism and Hinduism. Buddha was a spiritual leader on whose teachings Buddhism is based. According to Buddhist tradition, he lived from around 450 BC to 1000 BC. until about 370 BCE in Nepal and India. Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, removes obstacles and is the patron saint of travelers. Hindus pray to Ganesha before starting something new, such as a new job or when moving. Shiva represents the transmuting or destroying aspect of God. Everything in creation is temporary and will sooner or later be transmuted or destroyed. Shiva is often depicted with four arms, a trident (trishul), a cobra (naga) and a bull (Nandi) as a mount
