The Hand of Fatima or the Khamsa (Arabic: خمسة, literally "five") is an originally Berber-Moroccan, protective hand-shaped amulet in popular belief that is popular in the Middle East and North Africa, but also increasingly in West Africa. Europe is found. The amulet is hung on hangers on walls and in cars. In some cases the Hand of Fatima is combined with the Nazar, a repellent against the Evil Eye. This tradition is seen as superstition and has no origin within Islam. The Hand of Fatima refers to the daughter of Mohammed, Fatima Zahra. Some Christians call the amulet the Hand of Mary. In Jewish tradition it is called the Hand of Miriam.
